Laptop was 5h in workshop, where was Windows reinstalled. Need to check / controll, If during this time was ssd replased / taked out / restored data / etc. How is it possible?

Thank you for the answer. Only what i found about original disk is: SAMSUNG_MZVLB256HAHQ-000L71L2QEXD7. As i unferstood, is not unique drive number?

But what about bios? Nothing there?

And If ssd was taken out / tried to restore data / etc after Windows install, is there some possibility to check it?

PS how to check If there was Fresh install or Windows repair? System info show's: original install date/time during 5h where laptop was in repair shop. Does it mean that it was Fresh install?

Question: timestamp of original install date (systeminfo), is it start of Windows install or finish?

  • Drives should never be left in a machine when it's sent in for service because there is no way to guarantee data security - same for when a smartphone is sent in for service, a full data backup then factory restore is always recommended. If a drive needs to be left in for service, capture a WIM of each partition for restoring later, then reinstall Windows. This still isn't secure though since data can still be recovered via TestDisk and other widely used data recovery software (a secure erase of an HDD could be done)

Whether the SSD hardware is replaced or not is simply a matter of comparing the current SSD with what used to be there.
If you didn't take note of what was the original SSD (brand/model/serial number) you really can't tell unless the new SSD is obviously larger or smaller than the old one.

As for your data:
If this really is a fresh install your original data is lost/overwritten. It is possible the repair shop made a copy/nosed around in it before they did the re-install, but there is no way you can tell that after the fact.

If it was a repair installation on top of the old Windows installation your data should still be there. But again: There is no way to tell whether the repair shop did anything with that data.

Please note hat SSD replacement and "repair install on top of your old Windows" are not mutually exclusive. You can clone the old SSD to a new one and then do a repair installation.
